This recipe is a twist on the classic lemonade. It's refreshing, floral, tart, sweet and perfect for summer!
Before we get to the recipe, you should probably know how to make your own simple syrup! I like to make a big batch, and just store it in the fridge. It's perfect to add to all kinds of drinks to make them sweeter!
How to make simple syrup:
In a pot over medium heat, combine water and sugar in equal parts.
Bring this to a boil and heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Let the mixture cool and then pour into a jar and use as you like.
Any extra syrup can be stored in the fridge and should last 2-3 weeks!
Ingredients (1 serving):
1 cup of rose tea (1 cup of boiling water and 1 tsp of culinary grade, organic dried rose petals- I got mine from Amazon!)
1 oz lemon juice
1 - 2 oz of simple syrup (adjust according to your preferred level of sweetness)
1 1/2 tsp of rose water
1/4 cup sparkling water
lots of ice
Method:
Brew a cup of rose tea using 1 tsp of culinary grade, organic dried rose petals. Let this steep and cool.
Once the tea has cooled, fill a glass half way with ice.
Add the lemon juice to the rose tea and watch it change to a bright pinkish-red colour!
Pour the rose tea, simple syrup, rose water, and sparkling water over the ice, and stir gently to combine.
Taste and add more simple syrup if needed.
Enjoy!
