APPLE CINNAMON OVERNIGHT OATS

Nothing says fall like apples and warm, inviting spices!

If you love fall (and went apple picking like me, and now have a bunch of apples at home), then this recipe is for you! This is the perfect make-ahead breakfast as we move into the colder months. It's warm, comforting, and satiating. If you're having these oats for breakfast, you will definitely be satisfied until lunch.

These oats take no longer than 5 minutes to put together, making it perfect for those busy mornings!

Ingredients (makes two servings):

-1 apple, peeled and chopped into small bite-sized pieces

-2/3 cup of rolled oats (quick oats also work!)

-2/3 cup of milk

-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

-2 tsp chia seeds

-1-2 tsp maple syrup (optional)

-peanut/almond butter (optional)

Method:

  1. Add the apple, oats, milk, cinnamon, chia seeds and maple syrup to a jar and give it a good mix.

  2. Put the jar in the fridge overnight.

  3. In the morning, top the oats with some peanut butter or almond butter for some healthy fats. If you're like me and don't want a cold breakfast on a cold morning, warm up the oats by popping them in the microwave.

Enjoy!
